<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mast device for a forklift easily performing replacing work of sliding parts with reduced running cost, and to provide the forklift. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The mast device for the forklift includes: a pair of right and left outer masts erected on a front part of a vehicle body; a pair of right and left inner masts 2 slid and engaged with the outer masts to be guided and elevated; and lift brackets slid and engaged with the inner masts 2 to be elevated. In the mast device for a forklift, slid bodies are constituted respectively of the outer masts and inner masts 2, and inner masts 2 and the lift brackets. The slid bodies are mutually and relatively slid through sliding members 12, respectively. The sliding member 12 is made from resin material. The mast device further includes holders 10 holding the sliding members 12; and fixing means 11 detachably fixing the holder 10 to one of the sliding body. The holder 10 is fixed by fixing means 11 at an open end in a sliding direction of the sliding body 12, and the holder 10 is attached to/detached from an open end side in the sliding direction.
