PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device in which a peripheral circuit formed on a TFT substrate hardly has a dielectric breakdown in a rubbing step, etc. SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display device includes the TFT substrate where a pixel circuit and the peripheral circuit are formed and an opposite substrate CF disposed opposite the TFT substrate, wherein the opposite substrate CF has a transparent conductive film TL covering a region where the pixel circuit formed on the TFT substrate, which has a conduction region CR, electrically connecting with the transparent conductive film TL, and a terminal region TR on a first side which is not covered with the opposite substrate CF. The terminal region TR has a ground terminal AT connected to the conduction region CR and an adjacent terminal NT adjoining the ground terminal AT and supplying a signal or electric power to the peripheral circuit. The adjacent terminal NT is connected to the peripheral circuit by first wiring laid along a third side of the TFT substrate toward a second side opposed to the first side, and the first wiring is connected to the peripheral circuit after being extended to an intermediate point of the third side.
