METHOD FOR TREATING CANCER USING COMBINATION OF TUMOR-DERIVED DENDRITIC CELL INHIBITORY FACTOR ANTAGONIST AND TOLL-LIKE RECEPTOR AGONIST

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To treat the disorders (particularly cancers) considered to be caused by abnormal immune responses.

SOLUTION: Dendritic cells (DC) play a critical role in antigen-specific immune responses. Materials and methods are provided for treating disease states including cancer. The method includes decreasing the responsiveness to activation stimuli by diseases by stimulating dendritic cells from the host. In particular, methods are provided for treating cancer in a mammal comprising administering to the mammal an effective amount of a tumor-derived DC inhibitory factor antagonist in combination with an effective amount of a Toll-like receptor (TLR) agonist.
