摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a means for obtaining the optical characteristics of a progressive refracting power lens by a simple method with high reliability. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A lens to be evaluated belongs to one of a plurality of categories classified based on a distant portion refracting power measurement reference position and/or a progressive band length. Concerning a sample lens belonging to the same category as the lens to be evaluated, when light enters from a first plane, optical performance is measured using a measuring device including a measuring means for measuring an optical path of outgoing light emitted from a measuring point of a second plane at the other side and a calculating means for calculating optical performance at a measuring point of the sample lens based on the measured value obtained by the measuring means. The same optical performance as the optical performance measured on the sample lens is measured on the lens to be evaluated using the measuring device, and corrected using a correction function derived using the sample lens to obtain the optical performance of the lens to be evaluated.
