<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a deeply dyed artificial leather which does not cause a problem of dioxin generation, even when dyed in a deep color much sucking up the dye: and to provide a method for producing the same. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The deeply dyed artificial leather comprises polyester synthetic fibers having a single fiber fineness of 0.01 to 0.3 dtex and 5-50 wt.% of an elastic polymer, having been dyed in a deep color having an L* value satisfying the expression (a): L* value≤35, and having a chlorine content A (ppm) and a bromine content B (ppm) satisfying the expressions (b): A≤900 ppm, (c): B≤900 ppm and (d): A+B≤1,500 ppm. The method for producing the deeply dyed artificial leather comprises dyeing an artificial leather raw fabric comprising the polyester synthetic fibers having the single fiber fineness in the range and the elastic polymer with a dyeing liquid of disperse dye to satisfy the expressions (a), (b), (c) and (d).
