<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To correct an expectation value used for authenticating a main control board by a simple method, and to prevent fraudulent control from the main control board to a peripheral board and an inappropriate use of the expectation value. Ž<P>SOLUTION: In an electronic device equipped with the main control board 310 and the peripheral board 320 which performs a prescribed processing from a control command transmitted by the main control board 310, the main control board 310 adds correction data for correcting the expectation value used for verifying data transmitted from the main control board 310 and authentication data for authenticating the main control board 310 when the control command transmitted to the peripheral board 320 is the prescribed control command. The peripheral board 320 corrects the expectation value by using the correction data which has been received and authenticates the main control board 310 by using the corrected expectation value and the received authentication data.
