PURPOSE: An information providing system using a text message and a method thereof are provided to supply information by a method which combines a representative number service with text recognition of a mobile phone text service. CONSTITUTION: A general customer terminal(100) searches information using a text message. An information providing service server(400) analyzes a text message transmitted from the general customer terminal. When a location is set, the information providing service server selects the information based on the set location. The selected information is offered to the general customer terminal.
