<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To determine the actual operation state of a parking brake in a disc brake device provided with a parking brake mechanism. <P>SOLUTION: When a parking brake switch is turned ON, a parking brake controller 13 feeds a liquid pressure to a disc brake 5 by a liquid pressure control part 6, and after a motor of the parking brake mechanism 5A is driven to retain the braking state, the liquid pressure is released and the motor is stopped. The parking brake controller 13 feeds a drive current to the motor of the parking brake mechanism at a predetermined timing and monitors rotation of the motor. Based on the fact that rotation of the motor is locked by friction force generated at operation of the parking brake, the parking brake controller 13 determines that the parking brake is released when the motor is rotated, and determines that the parking brake is operated when the motor is not rotated. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
