<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a laminated film excellent in optical characteristics and also in durability, a method of manufacturing the laminated film, and a polarizing plate using the laminated film as a protective film and a liquid crystal display element using the polarizing plate. <P>SOLUTION: The laminated film is excellent in optical characteristics and also excellent in durability by providing an orientation film (B) whose liquid crystalline orientation capability is imparted by irradiation with radial rays and a liquid crystalline layer (C)on one surface of a cyclic olefine resin layer (A). The orientation film (B) is imparted with the liquid crystalline orientation capability by irradiation with radial rays, and unnecessitates the rubbing treatment. This does not invite the lowering of the product yield due to foreign matters generated from the falling-off of the rubbing cloth on the rubbing, foreign matters generated when the oriented material chips off and environmental foreign matter that attaches by electrostatic charges.
