METHOD OF PRODUCING PLATE GLASS, FLOAT BATH APPARATUS, PLATE GLASS AND USE THEREOF

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a float bath device for reducing the number and size of bubbles in at least a lower side thereof.

SOLUTION: The float bath device 1 includes a float bath bottom 2 made of a bath bottom brick 3 and a metal casing 12 having a metal bottom wall 14, and the pore spaces 10 are formed between the bath bottom brick 3 and the metal bottom wall 14. The method of producing the plate glass includes melting glass in a melting tank, pouring a molten glass onto a molten metal bath 5 to thereby form it into a glass ribbon 8. In this case, the pore spaces 10 are at least temporarily filled with H2-containing gas in at least one region.
