<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide technologies for transmitting image data with required reliability, via a communication path in which reliability in data transmission is not necessarily ensured. <P>SOLUTION: A receiving apparatus for receiving image data transmitted from a transmitting apparatus through packet communication includes: a receiving means for receiving a packet for transmitting the image data; a detection means for detecting a transmission error of the packet; and a transmitting means for transmitting to the transmitting apparatus a retransmission request of the packet in which the transmission error is detected by the detection means. When the detection means detects the transmission error of a packet corresponding to a preset region-of-interest (ROI) in the image data, the transmitting means transmits the retransmission request of the packet with a higher priority than the transmission request of a packet not corresponding to the ROI. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT</p> |
