PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wireless terminal which executes a handover to a wireless relay station, and to suppress an increase in communication resource consumption and processing load, even if a wireless relay station which is to be connected to the wireless base station arbitrarily changes. SOLUTION: A wireless communication system 1 comprises a wireless base station 100, a wireless relay station 300 which can connect to the wireless base station 100, and a wireless terminal 500 which connects to the wireless base station 100. The wireless base station 100 notifies the wireless terminal 500 of relay station identification information in the number determined, based on the number of wireless relay stations which can simultaneously connect to the wireless base station 100. When the wireless relay station 300 connects to the wireless base station 100, either one of the relay identification information is assigned to the wireless relay station 300.
