<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform lighting control depending on the moving speed of a moving body by using an active sensor for detecting the moving speed of the moving body. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The lighting system 1 comprises a luminaire 2, the active sensor 3 for detecting the moving body moving therearound, and a control device 4 for performing lighting control of the luminaire 2 after receiving a detection signal therefrom. The control device 4 includes: an amplifying circuit 41 with a filter, for dividing the detection signal from the active sensor 3 into two frequency bands and amplifying signals of the frequency bands; a determining circuit 42 for determining the existence of the moving body moving at a moving speed corresponding to each of the frequency bands in accordance with the amplified signals of the frequency bands; and a control circuit 44 for performing lighting control of the luminaire 2 in accordance with the determining results. Since the detection signal from the active sensor 3 is divided into the two frequency bands and the existence of the moving body moving at the moving speed corresponding to each of the frequency bands is determined in accordance with the signals of the frequency bands, the moving speed of the moving body can be detected.
