<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ion diffusion apparatus which improves sterilization performance by supplying a sufficient amount of ions within a room. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The ion diffusion apparatus includes an ion generator 17 having a first ion generating section 17a for generating either a positive ion or a negative ion and a second ion generating section 17b for generating the other ion, a blower fan 5, and an air flow passage 6 for guiding the ion generated at the ion generator 17 to an air outlet 10 by driving the blower fan 5. The air flow passage 6 has a plurality of right and left divided passages 8a which are formed by dividing the air flow passage in the right and left directions and are wider in the right and left directions on the upstream side compared to the downstream side.
