The present invention relates to a cleaning apparatus which sterilizes and cleans a handrail on an escalator or a moving walkway. More specifically, the present invention concerns a non-powered handrail cleaning apparatus for the handrail of an escalator or a moving walkway which is installed in the space of an inlet from which the handrail comes out, to clean the handrail without power, coat the handrail, and sterilize germs on a user's hand, thereby enabling more sanitary management and operation of the handrail. The cleaning apparatus comprises a cleaning body, a cleaning solution tank, a cleaning roller which is installed in the cleaning solution tank and permitted to turn, an auxiliary cleaning solution tank which is prepared on the upper side of the handrail, a coating agent storage tank which is prepared on a lateral surface of the auxiliary cleaning solution tank, a coating roller which connects to the coating agent storage tank and coats the handrail while contacting the handrail and turning, a drying unit which dries the handrail having been cleaned by the cleaning roller, and a far infrared ray lamp which sterilizes a user's hand by irradiating the far infrared rays thereon. The lower portion of the cleaning roller is installed inside the cleaning solution tank and the upper portion thereof is installed on top of the cleaning solution tank and closely attached to the handrail. |
