<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermal transfer image receiving sheet which excels in highest transfer consistency and is free of image defects. <P>SOLUTION: The thermal transfer sheet has a thermal transfer stratum containing a barrier layer, dye and a binder coated on one of the surface of polyester support in this order, and has an yellow, magenta and cyan heat transfer stratum and a protective layer prepared sequentially on the top of each surface where the barrier layer contains polyvinyl pyrrolidone, and the cyan heat transfer stratum contains at least one kind of dye and one kind of silicone oil expressed by a formula (C1).
