PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display medium whose production is made easy and for which low voltage drive can be achieved, as compared with the case where a partition member is constituted as a separate body from a substrate, and to provide a display element, a display device, and a method for manufacturing the display medium. SOLUTION: A die 30 having a recessed part 30A and a projecting part 30A corresponding to the particle holding member 18 of a forming object is pressed to a curing resin layer 32, and in the pressed state, a stimulus for curing the curing resin layer 32 is applied thereto to cure the curing resin layer 32 and thereafter the die 30 is peeled from the curing resin layer 32, and thereby, the particle holding member 18 where the partition member 18B and a back substrate 18A are integrally formed is formed. Then, each region sectioned by the partition member 18B of the particle holding member 18a is filled with particle-containing dispersion medium 16, and thereafter, the opening part of the particle holding member 18 is sealed by a display substrate 12 and an electrodes 14, and thus the display medium 10 is produced.
