A parameter in detection of an abnormal shadow candidate is set on the basis of patient information, thereby improving accuracy of detecting the abnormal shadow candidate contained in a medical image. A image diagnosing support apparatus acquires electronic medical record information relating to the medical image subjected to the detection of the abnormal shadow candidate from an image management server and sets the parameter to be used for processing of the abnormal shadow candidate on the basis of the acquired electronic medical record information.
