The cam follower (1) has a bowl-shaped calotte receptacle at an end, where side walls are provided with longitudinally extending chamfers in an area of the calotte receptacle. The chamfers extend from the outer side to the inner side, and regenerate in the direction of the ends lying at the sides of the calotte receptacle. An independent claim is included for a method for manufacturing a cam follower.
