PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus which can detect drop of AC voltage of a fixing heater with simple constitution, and can change operation of respective sections in accordance with the drop of the AC voltage. SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus includes a power supply section, a printing section, a fixing section to perform fixing of a sheet printed by the printing section, and a heater energized to generate heat so as to heat a member included in the printing section or the fixing section. The apparatus includes a time measuring section which measures the AC voltage of the power supply section and measures a time interval from a point of time when an absolute value of the AC voltage is less than a predetermined value to a point of time when it is more than the predetermined value. The apparatus includes a control changing section which monitors whether the time interval measured by the time measuring section exceeds the predetermined time, and changes a control method related to energizing processing of the heater or error disposal when the time interval exceeds the predetermined time.
