<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lubricating device for an engine which keeps stable the pressure on a suction side of a relief valve when the relief valve is opened. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The lubricating device 2 consists of a feed pump 51, a scavenging pump 52, and a relief valve 53. In the lubricating device 2, a feed pump side discharge path 59, a scavenging pump side suction path 60 and a relief path 57 are formed. The relief path 57 connects the feed pump side discharge path 59 with the scavenging pump side suction path 60, and includes the relief valve 53 so as to allow lubricating oil to flow into the scavenging pump side suction path 60 from the feed pump side discharge path 59.
