<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device that prevents the other substrate from being charged, without arranging a grounding pad on one substrate constituting a liquid crystal panel. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display device includes: a liquid panel comprising a TFT glass substrate 10; a CF glass substrate 12, which is arranged oppositely to the TFT glass substrate 10 so as to sandwich a liquid crystal layer along with the TFT glass substrate 10, and in which an ITO (conductive film) is formed on the surface opposite to the liquid crystal layer; a liquid crystal-driving semiconductor chip 14, which is mounted on an area excluding the area opposite to the CF glass substrate 12 among the surfaces of the liquid crystal layer side of the TFT glass substrate 10, and in which an electrical conduction area connected to a grounding potential is exposed to at least part of the surface excluding the TFT glass substrate 10 side; and an electrical conduction tape 18 for connecting an ITO formed by the CF glass substrate 12 with the electrical conduction area formed at the liquid crystal-driving semiconductor chip 14.
