PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic resonance imaging apparatus capable of confirming magnetic field intensity without using a Tesla meter. SOLUTION: A permanent electric current switch is set to be off by supplying an electric current from a power source means 300 to a heater, then, the supply of magnet-exciting electric current is started from the power source means 300 to the superconductive coil 15. When the magnet-exciting electric current reaches Ith, an RF pulse Prf is transmitted from a transmission/reception coil 13, so as to measure the frequency f of an MR signal Sph from a phantom PH. When the measured frequency f is included within the range of the prescribed frequencies f1-f2, the supply of the electric current from the power source means 300 to the heater is stopped.
