<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sound insulating member of a V-type engine capable of restraining noise by reducing an engine radiation sound by restraining the engine radiation sound from expanding from a V-shaped trough part. Ž<P>SOLUTION: This shielding member of the V-type engine 21 has an engine cover 29 installed on cylinder heads 26A and 26B of banks 23A and 23B so as to block up the V-shaped trough part 28 formed between the banks 23A and 23B, and has a pair of shielding plates 30 and 31 oppositely arranged between the banks 23A and 23B so as to block up one end part 28a and the other end part 28b of the V-shaped trough part 28.
