<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable an illumination system to accurately light a lighting fixture without being affected by light irradiated from the fixture or shadow of a person or an object generated by the light, on the basis of image data by an image sensor. Ž<P>SOLUTION: Each lighting fixture 3A to 3C with which the system 1 is provided comprises a light source, an image sensor, a control part controlling lighting of the light source by interpreting the image data, and a timing adjustment part adjusting light-up timing. In case the lighting fixtures 3A, 3B light up at light outputs of a constant value or more and the other 3C lights up at a light output smaller than the constant value, each timing adjustment part makes light-up timing of the fixtures 3A, 3B consistent with each other, and light-up timing of the fixture 3C is shifted from those of the fixtures 3A, 3B. The image sensor 34 of the lighting fixture 3C obtains image data at an interval where waveforms of lighting periods of the lighting fixtures 3A, 3B become minimum, and the control part interprets the image data thus obtained to change lighting control conditions on the lighting fixture.
