<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a porous material for obtaining a sound absorbing characteristic, a sound insulation characteristic, and a vibration suppression characteristic with the use of one sintered material. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A sound absorbing structure body 10 includes a structure where a flat plate 1 and a gel layer are laminated via an air chamber layer. A plurality of openings 5 including the ones with different opening diameters are formed in the gel layer 3. A Helmholtz structure is constituted of the openings 5 and the air chamber layer. Thus, the air chamber layer of the sound absorbing structure body 10 is made to be thinner, and the body 10 is applied to an electric appliance on which the thick sound absorbing structure body cannot be mounted.
