PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic electric roaster for easily and deliciously cooking meat. SOLUTION: This automatic electric roaster includes: a heating compartment 1 receiving a cooked object (not shown in drawing); upper and lower heating elements 2, 3 for heating and cooking the cooked object; a temperature detecting means 9 detecting a temperature in the heating compartment 1; a selecting means 7 for selecting a cooking menu; a memorizing means 12 memorizing a plurality of cooking sequences suitable for the cooking menus; and a control means 10 for controlling the upper and lower heating elements 2, 3 according to the output of a temperature detecting means 9. The cooking sequence suitable for cooking of meat memorized in the memorizing means 12 has a heating process and a cooking process. The heating process is transferred to the cooking process when the temperature detecting means 9 detects a prescribed temperature in the heating process. In the cooking process, the heating cooking is performed while lowering a power distribution rate according to the lapse of process, so that the heating cooking is performed with the cooking sequence suitable for the cooking of meat when the cooking of meat is selected by the selecting means 7.
