摘要 <p>A rewritable optical data storage medium ( 20 ) for high-speed recording by means of a focused radiation beam is described. The medium ( 20 ) comprises a substrate ( 7 ) carrying a stack ( 2 ) of layers, which stack ( 2 ) comprises, a substantially transparent first auxiliary layer I 1 ( 3 ), a substantially transparent second auxiliary layer I 2 ( 5 ) having a thickness d<SUB>I2</SUB>, and a recording layer ( 4 ) of a phase-change material having a thickness d<SUB>p </SUB>and comprising at least a composition Ge<SUB>x</SUB>Sn<SUB>y</SUB>Sb<SUB>1-x-y</SUB>, where 0.05<x<0.30 and 0.15<y<0.30. The recording layer ( 4 ) is interposed between I 1 and I 2 . A third auxiliary layer I 3 ( 6 ) with a thickness d<SUB>I3 </SUB>acting as a heat sink is being present at a side of I 2 opposite to the side of the recording layer. The following formula is fulfilled lambda<SUB>I2</SUB>/d<SUB>I2</SUB>>5*10<SUP>8 </SUP>W m<SUP>-2 </SUP>K<SUP>-1</SUP>, in which formula lambda<SUB>I2 </SUB>is the heat conduction coefficient of the material of the I 2 layer. Thus an optical data storage medium is provided capable of being recorded at a relatively high linear recording speed of about 35 m/s or more.</p>
