<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a variable valve gear of an internal combustion engine restraining displacement in an axial direction of a rocking shaft of a rocking member, without having influence on assembling work of the valve gear. Ž<P>SOLUTION: This variable valve gear is provided with a guide part 61 for regulating displacement in the rocking shaft direction of a rocking member and a rocking member with a valve side member on both sides of an input piece, with a structure having: a cam surface 58a in any one of the rocking member 40 rocking by receiving cam displacement of a rotary cam 20; and the valve side member 50 for driving a valve 17 by rocking of the rocking member by abutting on the rocking member and having the input piece 58 abutting on the cam surface in the other. By this constitution, displacement in the rocking shaft direction of the rocking member is regulated only by installing the rocking member and the valve side member.
