<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a terminal metal fitting in which an increase in length thereof in an extending direction of an electric wire is suppressed before and after crimping, and to provide an electric wire with the terminal metal fitting. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A female terminal metal fitting 12 includes wire barrels 17 crimped so as to wind around a core wire 10 and a connecting portion 18 extending from the wire barrels 17 to be connected with a male terminal metal fitting. The wire barrels 17 have a contact surface 22 to be held in contact with the core wire 10. Grooves 30 are formed in a surface of the wire barrels 17 opposite to the contact surface 22 before the wire barrels 17 are crimped around the core wire 10, and extend in a second direction intersecting a first direction in which an electric wire 11 crimped extends.
