METHOD FOR PRODUCING AQUEOUS SOLUTION CONTAINING CHROMIUM (III) SOURCE

Disclosed is a method for producing an aqueous solution containing a chromium (III) source, which comprises: adding an aqueous solution containing trivalent chromium to an aqueous inorganic alkaline solution at a reaction solution temperature of not lower than 0°C and lower than 50°C so that the amount of trivalent chromium does not become in excess locally relative to the amount of the alkali, thereby producing chromium hydroxide; and dissolving the chromium hydroxide in an aqueous acid solution, thereby producing the aqueous solution containing a chromium (III) source.  Preferably, filtration is carried out after the production of chromium hydroxide, and washing with water is carried out until the electrical conductivity of a filtrate becomes 5 mS/cm or less.
