Electrochemical gas sensor comprises a gas-permeable ion- and liquid-impermeable membrane with a gas-permeable film of a hydrophilic polymer arranged on the side of the membrane facing an aqueous outer solution. The film has a surface wettability for the outer solution which is higher than the surface wettability of the membrane for the outer solution. - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is also included for a process for coating membranes of an electrochemical gas sensor with a gas-permeable film of a hydrophilic polymer.
