<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent USB equipment from being stolen or lost, in a projector for acquiring image data showing an image to be displayed from the USB equipment. <P>SOLUTION: A projector 10 includes an image formation optical system for forming an image and a casing 12 for storing a projection optical system for projecting an image to a screen. The casing 12 includes a storage part 16 recessed for storing whole outer shape of the USB memory 50 while the USB memory 50 storing image data to be projected to the projector 10 is connected to a USB interface. A cover 13 is mounted on the casing 12 so that the USB memory 50 can be covered while the storage part 16 is stored. Thus, it is possible to prevent the USB memory 50 from being exposed to the outside of the projector 10 when the USB memory 50 is connected to the USB interface.
