PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely move a fixed quantity of ink to the recording head side from the inside of a supply tube. SOLUTION: An ink-jet printer is configured to move a sphere 35 movable only in a space 34 in a cylindrical part 31b, from a movement start position into a movement end position by moving a magnet 37 arranged in proximity on the outside of the cylindrical part 31b. At this time, a downstream supply tube 12b is connected to a vertically uppermost part which is the lowermost reaches of the cylindrical part 31b. Consequently, even if air is mixed into the space 34 in the cylindrical part 31b, the air is ejected upward and hardly stays, and ink hardly flows out of a micro clearance between the sphere 35 and the inner wall of the cylindrical part 31b.
