PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To propose the setting point of a vehicle speed limit control gain for avoiding the overshoot of a vehicle speed or the delay of the rising of a vehicle speed to a limit vehicle speed in any case. SOLUTION: Before a vehicle speed deviationΔVSP between a limit vehicle speed LmtVSP and an actual vehicle speed VSP decreases to a set valueΔVSPs (S12), a control gain G is set to a large gain G(1) for overshoot prevention (S13). Even whenΔVSP<ΔVSPs is achieved (S12), a control gain G is not immediately switched from G(1) to small G(2) for vehicle speed rising delay prevention, and this switching is delayed until the vehicle speed deviationΔVSP is set to a fine valueΔVSPss=0 smaller than the set valueΔVSPs (S14, S13), and the control gain G is gradually changed from the gain G(1) to G(2) at a speed determined by theΔG (S15, S16) sinceΔVSP≤ΔVSPss has been achieved (S14).
