PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a powder magnetic core having both sufficiently low core loss and a sufficiently-excellent magnetic characteristic. SOLUTION: The duct core 10 includes Fe-based particles 12, and an insulation layer 14 covering surfaces of the Fe-based particles 12. In the powder magnetic core 10, the insulation layer 14 contains an aluminum compound containing aluminum oxide and a phosphorous compound containing phosphate; the content of the aluminum compound is 0.01-0.03 mass% in terms of Al<SB>2</SB>O<SB>3</SB>; and density thereof is 7.64 g/cm<SP>3</SP>or more.
