<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a watermark embedding method and its detecting method, capable of embedding and detecting time-varying watermark information. <P>SOLUTION: On the transmission side, different dot patterns are padded at a fixed interval or an irregular interval (F, F', F", ...), e.g. for each scene. In the latter case, detection of a predetermined number of frames f from arbitrary position A (detection (1)-1, detection (2)-1, detection (1)-2, detection (2)-2, ...), e.g. detection of 150 frame bit pattern, is started on the receiving side. Next detection is started, when detection of the number of frames f' is ended, and detection is repeated at a similar timing. Each bit of the detected bit pattern is subjected to reliability inspection by population parameter average test and, when the reliability of at least one bit is lower than a predetermined level, that bit pattern is not employed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
