PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an illuminator capable of effectively illuminating an object to be illuminated. SOLUTION: In the illuminator wherein lights from an LED equipped to a case are radiated from the irradiation port of the case, the case is elongated, and a mounting portion which can be mounted to another member is provided at a part of the case. The irradiation port is elongated in the longitudinal direction of the case and opens obliquely upward of obliquely downward with respect to the mounting portion of the case. In the case, the LED is mounted toward their radiation port. In the case, an LED mounted part is provided. When the mounting part of the case is mounted to another member, a display part is provided at a place visible from outside. The lateral surface in the longitudinal direction of the case is opened, and a substrate to which an LED module, an LED chip, or the like are mounted can be put into or out of the LED mounted part.
