PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a positioning tool capable of reliably and easily arranging long members, including furring strips at equal intervals, and to provide a method of mounting furring strips. SOLUTION: This positioning tool 10 includes: a pinching part 20 for pinching one long member 2 mounted on a surface 1 onto which the one long member is mounted; a positioning part 30 brought into contact with the other long member 2 mounted on a side end surface 30a at a predetermined interval from the one long member 2; and a connection part 40 for separating the pinching part 20 a predetermined distance from the positioning part 30. This method of mounting the furring strip 2 uses the positioning tool 10. As a result, the other long member can be positioned, by bringing the other long member into contact with the side end surface of the positioning part with the one long member pinched by the pinching part.
