PURPOSE: A filtering apparatus flowing water to a vortex by a spiral groove is provided to improve filtering efficiency by simply discharging and removing foreign materials filtered from the filter automatically with water. CONSTITUTION: A filtering apparatus(100) comprises the following: pipe bodies(110,120) supplying and discharging water while being connected to a pump; and a filter(130) filtering a foreign material contained in the water while being installed in the inside of the pipe. The filter comprises a filtering net(134), and a frame supporting the filtering net. One sealed end of the filtering net is installed on the pipe supplying the water while protruded in a hemi-spherical shape. The other opened end is installed on the pipe discharging the water. A spiral groove(133a) is formed on the outer surface of the sealed end to flow the water into a vortex.
