The alignment device, for use when tiling for example, comprises an alignment member 1 that retains a measuring mechanism 30, such as a spirit level. Preferably the alignment member also includes a guide mechanism 17, such as a track, that runs along its length and releasably retains the measuring mechanism while allowing it to move along the alignment member. It is also preferable that the alignment member comprises a platform and a flange that can be arranged at right angles to each other and that the alignment device includes connecting elements to be connected to a structure. These connecting elements may be adhesive strips that have protective tags covering their adhesive surface, where the tags have gripping aids in the form of a tab 12 extending from the tag. The measuring mechanism, which is suitable for measuring orientation or length, may be pivotable about an axis so that it can be releasably fixed at a chosen angle and include an alarm to signal a desired measurement. A second reference line, at any angle, may also be provided by the alignment mechanism using a laser. |
