In the method of making a magnetic carrier, the substrate of the carrier is deformed by applying stretching forces along one axis. After that a layer of nonmagnetic substance is sprayed on. Magnetic properties are then imparted to sections of the sprayed layer by changing their chemical composition through exposure to accelerated particles, which ensures selective removal of required atoms.
