PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas venting mechanism for a battery cell in which gas venting is improved by an improvement means preventing pressure increase in the cell. SOLUTION: The invention relates to an apparatus including: a device which can be battery-operated; and a battery cell which supplies electric power to the device. The battery cell is provided with a terminal part and a gas venting mechanism. The gas venting mechanism is equipped with: a bendable member bending under pressure; a support member; an opening part formed at the terminal part and venting gas outside; and an auxiliary means for preventing the support member and the bendable member from being crashed to the terminal part side in accordance with pressure increase in the cell. Thus, gas can be released from the cell without clogging gas, a venting valve always operates in a reliable method, and gas increase in the cell can be avoided.
