FIELD: construction. ^ SUBSTANCE: invention is related to the field of polymer pipes butt welding by means of flashing and may be used to weld polyethylene pipes in case of high temperatures of ambient atmospheric air out of regulated interval of welding works performance temperature. Invention provides for identical speed of welded seam cooling along internal surface of polymer pipe along its whole perimetre. On completion of upset forging operation, atmospheric air is supplied to one end of welded pipe under pressure, while the other end of pipe is in open condition. ^ EFFECT: welded seam produced under such conditions has identical strength properties along the whole perimetre of welded seam.
