PURPOSE: A microbial fuel cell is provided to consecutively obtain power of high yield from organic compound-containing liquid materials such as sewage and effluent and to enable the stabilization of organic compounds. CONSTITUTION: A microbial fuel cell(1) comprises a negative electrode reactor(23) maintained in an anaerobic condition, an electrode part(20), an anaerobic part(10) which is positioned at the front of the electrode part and reduces dissolved oxygen and oxidizing substances of sewage, wastewater and liquid materials flowing into the electrode part, and a discharge part(30) which is positioned at the rear of the electrode part and discharges effluent flowing out from the electrode part.
