PURPOSE: A flat glass inspection device for a display and an inspection method thereof are provided to accurately figure out a defect location of a flat glass. CONSTITUTION: A flat glass inspection device for a display comprises a roller conveyor(10), a laser irradiation part(20), a laser receiving part(25), and a laser control part(30). The roller conveyor transfers a flat glass(80). The laser irradiation part irradiates a laser to the flat glass transferred by the roller conveyor. The laser receiving part receives the laser irradiated from the laser irradiation part. The laser control part calculates a conveying speed of the flat glass. And the laser control part generates encoder signals whenever the flat glass is moved in a uniform distance.
