Optical sensor with collision protection for a measuring machine

The sensor (1) has a sensor protection coupling (3) serving as a collision protection unit and provided with a measurement machine-sided coupling part (4) and a sensor element-sided coupling part (5). An optical waveguide (7) e.g. single mode or multi mode fiber, is guided between the coupling parts of the sensor protection coupling. An optical waveguide protection element (26) i.e. folding bellow, encloses the optical waveguide. Ends (27, 28) of the protection element are fastened to the coupling parts of the sensor protection coupling. The parts are provided with electromagnets (17).
