A seed sowing machine comprising share supporting arms 5 and shares 10 has supports 13, pivotally attached to the shares, which, when the machine is raised, hang substantially vertically, so that upon lowering the machine, the supports 13 support the shares above the ground. When the machine moves forwardly the supports pivot rearwardly to allow the shares to contact the ground. Each support comprises two long struts (14) (Fig. 3, not shown) and a cross strut 15. Projections 16 are adapted to clear the seed outlet openings of any earth. In the embodiment of Fig. 4 supports 19 are pivotally connected to arms 5 and are held against a stop 26 when the machine is stationary by a spring 24 one end of which may be positioned in any of three bore holes 23. The supports each include a bearing member 20. |
