The machine tool has a drive device (20), which comprises an axial drive unit (22) for driving a tool (18), where the axial drive unit has a movement transmission unit (30) with a coupling element (28) and a piston unit (32) made of aluminum or light metal alloy. The coupling element of the movement transmission unit is connected with the piston unit in a receiving area (46) by a coupling pin (50). The receiving area has a receiving segment formed in dome shape and a connecting segment, where the receiving segment is connected with a piston area by the connecting segment. An independent claim is included for a method for manufacturing a machine tool.
