PURPOSE: A portable terminal and a method for removing the noise made by a slide being opened are provided to enables a call connection with time delay from a start point that starts the opening of the slide. CONSTITUTION: A sensor unit(210) generates a sensing signal by detecting the opening of a slide, and a control unit(230) receives the sensing signal from the sensor. The control unit converts the mode of the portable terminal into a reception mode when the opening of the slide is completed. A delay unit(220) receives the opening start sensing signal from the sensor. The delay unit transfers the delay signal at a certain time interval.
